"Launching".... WEDx!

I want to be an imagineer, I want to do awesome things and live doing that.

Unfortunately, I cannot do it. I live in Argentina (where Disney Imagineering doesn't has offices), and I can't yet move to another country. Also, I don't know whether there would be a position for me @ Disney Imagineering.

I'm a Software Engineer and once I was this close to be a Disney employee when I worked as a contractor thru local Software Factory Globant. But the pay wasn't competitive enough and as contractor I didn't have participation on the most appealing projects.

I'd love to work in WED (now Disney Imagineering) but currently I can't. And I imagine that's something that may have happened to people who loved TED Talks but couldn't work on TED organization, so that they've created TEDx (probably not true, but let me dream it like that).

So this is the foundational step to create "WEDx, an independently organized WED company". A remote-friendly group of multidisciplinary, diverse and global talent passionated about making the experiences inside the happiest place in the world even more happier, just because.

Ideally, that may led to us to be part of Disney and fully merge into the company as an Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow imagineers ;-).

I'd love to kickstart here at reddit the discussion of all the details and questions/concerns that may help this idea to come true, like "how do you plan to fund it? how you'll get access to park-related resources to develop the projects? how the organization will be structured? Why that awful name?", etc. Also to get in touch with people who would like to join.

PS: This is a very big world, and very connected, so, if it happens that someone else had this very same idea and this thing already exists, please let me know to join right away, I don't need nor I'm interested of being "the alma matter", "the originator", "the founder" of WEDx, just to work on that. I'll gladly joint whoever may have started first.

PS2: If you are a Disney executive and have any concern over this endeavor, please let's talk. I don't have any intention to cause any type of damage to the Walt Disney Company, on the contrary, just want to use my passion and skills and join forces with other people that has the same willing to provide their time and effort to help making WDW more awesome than already is.
